Mapping MARC to BIBFRAME

There are a number ways to convert MARC21 to BIBFRAME. One the more widely used is the Library of Congress marc2bibframe a XQuery process that takes MARCXML and converts the XML to BIBFRAME RDF XML.

The MARC21 record format should be familiar to most catalogers. MARC contains fixed and variable length fields numbering from 001 to 999 with the variable length fields containing zero, one, or two indicators, and one or more subfields. From our sample record, we'll examine these fields:
